Michael Davids began his journey into computer programming in an era defined by Hollerith punch cards, hexadecimal arithmetic, register storage, circuit logic, and assembly language. Over the past 40 years, he has climbed the Information Systems ladder—holding roles as an application programmer, systems analyst, database administrator, business intelligence analyst, data warehouse engineer, and various management and director positions.
Michael has worked as both an employee and a contract consultant, serving organizations that range from startups to Fortune 100 companies. His expertise spans multiple industries, software platforms, and hardware vendors—from now-defunct systems like Control Data Systems, Digital Equipment, and Data General to enduring giants like IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft.
Armed with degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration—including an MBA—Michael has also contributed as a continuing education instructor, teaching computer-related subjects at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has played a pivotal role in successful startup ventures in consulting services and software development. His professional credentials include certifications as a college-level educator, Total Quality Management Master, Six Sigma Green Belt, and ITIL V3 Practitioner.
Despite his deep roots in data and business management, it wasn’t until the past fifteen years that Michael turned his attention to healthcare. Recognizing the profound impact that technology and efficiency can have on improving lives—especially for those who struggle to help themselves—he found a renewed sense of purpose. His work in medical manufacturing, pharmaceutical innovation, and healthcare services has allowed him to apply his expertise in ways that are not only intellectually stimulating but also deeply fulfilling.
Today, Michael serves as a senior leader for a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental, mental health, and other life challenges. His team leverages modern technological advancements—including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, virtual reality, and robotics—while always prioritizing the human connection.
This book reflects the intersection of technology, business efficiency, financial productivity, and, above all, humanity. No matter how much Michael learns, how hard he works, or how deeply he innovates, he may never master the art of applying a bandage—but he remains steadfast in his appreciation for those who can.
